Bohol’s most beloved hero is also her most magical one. Among his legendary powers was the ability to jump great distances. Kasing Sining Teatro Bol-anon Ensemble, the theater company that brought Dagohoy’s story life in the musical, Dagon sa Hoyohoy

Theater of the future, or Teatro Porvenir finds a new slot in history when the famed Andres Bonifacio stylized biography gets to be staged in Bohol: in a cockpit. Lutgardo Labad, a multi-awarded Boholano theater director and musical scorer as well as National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) Theater Committee Director said the Baclayon theater, home to traditional cockfights for over a century will become the theater for the future as it will stage the performance of Teatro Porvenir.

Communities in Bohol have drawn inspiration from their history and cultural heritage to develop creative hubs designed to promote sustainable tourism, create livelihood and help local residents recover from the 2013 earthquake. The towns of Loon, Maribojoc, Antequera and Baclayon were scenes of devastation after a 7.2 intensity quake struck the island province in the morning of Oct. 15 four years ago, destroying roads, bridges and houses, and leaving centuries-old churches in ruin. More than 200 people lost their lives in the disaster.

Bohol's Kasing Sining and Loboc Children's Choir restaged excerpts from Mangayaw: The World of Our Ancestors, a cultural spectacle which involve over 300 performers from allover the Visayas and 200 technical-production and support staff from across the country. It was performed to mark the 500-day countdown to the 2021 Quincentennial Commemorations in the Philippines on 14 December 2019 at Lapu-Lapu City. Featured here is a part of "Mangayaw," the theme song of the spectacle.
